Women & Cardiometabolic Health

Cardiometabolic diseases and their complications account for about 50% of
deaths in US women. The term cardiometabolic disease refers to a
dangerous combination of conditions: cardiovascular diseases and
diabetes and/or metabolic syndrome. It is critical that we raise awareness
of this dangerous disease combination in order to motivate women to make
healthy lifestyle changes.

In this podcast, Dr. Linda Gaudiani, medical director at MarinHealth Braden
Diabetes Center, and Dr. Anita Szady, a cardiologist at MarinHealth
Cardiovascular Medicine, discuss the dangers of and risk factors for
cardiometabolic disease. Listen and learn about upcoming new
medications and changes you can make right now to reduce your risk of
cardiometabolic diseases.
