Jeslyn Gorman: Cancer, Care and Finding Her Voice

When Jeslyn Gorman, a professional vocalist who has performed with some of the music industry's biggest artists, was diagnosed with breast cancer, she faced not only treatment, but also decisions about fertility, work and the future she was still trying to imagine. In this episode, Jeslyn joins Dr. Eve Glazier and three members of her UCLA Health care team – breast medical oncologist, Aashini Master, DO, breast surgical oncologist, Jennifer Baker, MD, and radiation oncologist, Susie McCloskey, MD – to share her experience from finding the first change through diagnosis, treatment and life after active treatment. Together, they explore how coordinated cancer care can address the whole person, how patients can participate in difficult decisions without having to make them alone, and what Jeslyn wants others to know about speaking up, accepting support and navigating the uncertainty of cancer.
